We are going to learn more about measrue word today. In Chinese "furniture" is an interesting category, each piece has its own measure according to the shape. Let's take a look:

| 组 | is used for "set of furniture": 这组家具只有三件:桌子、椅子和床 |

| 张 | is used for furniture mainly used for it's flat surface, like table, desk, bed, stool, sofa...:办公室里有一张写字台、三张单人床、一张玻璃茶几、一张餐桌、四张板凳,搬一张沙发到阳台⋯⋯ |
| tiáo | |
| 条 | is used for bench or pew: 公园里的一条长凳 |
| bǎ | |
| 把 | is used for chairs: 一把椅子 |

| 只 | is used for the cupboard, cabinet, wardrobe, night table, chest... 床边有两只床头柜、一只五斗橱 |

| 个 | is widely used here again: 两个床头柜、一个沙发 |

| 盏 | is the measure for lamp or light: 三盏台灯、一盏路灯 |
